Laudium's Nisha nominated for African Women Awards (AWAs)
Laudium’s very own Nisha Maharaj, a prized contributor to the rise of women in Africa, will, this year, be honoured at the AWAs 2018. On May 19, the annual African Women Awards (AWAs) will be hosted at a prestigious venue in central London. Africa is home to more than 40 countries and proudly boasts many successful women, originating from various cultural and religious backgrounds.
Nisha's business, Niche Integrated Solutions, which provides software solutions, ICT managed services and training, is rapidly growing and also contributes to the well-being of communities throughout South Africa. The successful entrepreneur has dedicated 20 years of her life gathering work experience within South Africa's major listed companies. This includes four banking and financial services companies and the telecommunications sector. Her roles have varied from executive management, general management to COO level. Nisha was also featured in the Ernst and Young Entrepreneurial Winning Women Class of 2015. She views women as resilient and brave, and encourages them to persevere until they attain the goals they aspire towards. In future, she hopes to expand her business ventures into Africa and make a difference in technological innovation, also hoping to continue touching the lives of those in need.
A beaming Nisha told the Laudium Sun, “I am really grateful for this achievement. As Indian women, within the cultural context we come from, the road to success is predominantly more challenging. Women have a great role to play in the field of ICT.
I am so proud of my nomination at the AWAs and I want all women to know that nothing is impossible.”
